Board Officers and Duties

The Woodland Heights Civic Association officers include the President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary, elected to their offices by the organization’s members.

President

The President is the Chief Executive Officer of the WHCA and exercises supervision over all its affairs, including presiding at the meetings of the WHCA. The President represents the WHCA before the Richmond City Council and any other organization at which the views of the WHCA will be presented.

Vice President

The Vice President performs all the duties of the President in the President’s absence. The Vice President supervises the progress of all standing committees, coordinates the efforts of standing committees in matters of common responsibility, and, in the absence of a standing committee chairperson, report the progress of that committee to the membership.

Treasurer

The Treasurer is the custodian of all funds of the WHCA and deposits those funds in a bank approved by the President. The Treasurer keeps a true and accurate record of all monies received and disbursed by the WHCA and presents the most recent quarterly balance sheet and summary of monies received and disbursed at each meeting. The Treasurer also keeps a true, accurate and current record of all members and the date of their dues payments.

Secretary

The Secretary keeps the minutes of all WHCA meetings. The Secretary maintains the official WHCA history, correspondence and records. The Secretary shares records from prior years to the Virginia Commonwealth University Library for inclusion in its Special Collections archives.
